Casa Gorordo Museum

Casa Gorordo Museum is located in 35 Lopez Jaena Street in the center of the City. The foundation of the house is made up of coral stone blocks which is why some called it “balay na bato” but its actually an elegant Spanish house built in 18th century that is currently preserved for the remains of what’s left during that time. Most tourists that traveled to Cebu visits the famous cultural Spanish House that was bought by Juan Isidro de Gorordo in 1863 and is now preserved by Aboitiz Foundation as a museum.

Casa Gorordo Museum offers its visitors their art exhibitions and polished wooden floors and the antique colonial furniture. They’ve also preserved those memorabilia from the past such as books, dresses and kitchen utensils. They feature their chapel where they display a pasyon manuscript written in Cebuano dialect and a lot more to it such as the antique nativity set, paintings, the dining room, balcony and their kitchen.

Casa Gorordo became one of the famous cultural place in Cebu because it is the house of the first Filipino bishop of Cebu, Juan Gorordo (1910-32).
